The Monitoring page provides an immediate and informative view of your operations and monitoring site, featuring a configurable map that displays all monitoring sites and weather sensors at their locations.

This article guides you on navigating and configuring the map display to optimise the monitoring suite.

Reading the map

The main map displays your site with deployed sensors, each recording one type of emission or odour at a time. Emissions are shown in parts per billion and colour-coded by set limits.

The triangular filters represent Arcs of Influence, based on local wind speed and direction. These arcs show the odour's probable source, indicating where it came from, not where it is going to.

The Arcs of Influence approximate the region of influence over the previous 10 minutes as a sector with a:

• radius of the average wind speed × 10 minutes (for example, 1 metre per second = 600 metres)
• central angle of 2 × the sigma theta centred on the average wind direction

Where sigma theta represents the standard deviation of the wind direction on the horizontal plane. Note that for arcs generated by wind stations which do not provide a sigma theta, a default value of 15° is used.

A weather monitor is also depicted on the map in the lower right, displaying the wind speed and direction at the time.

Using map controls

Map controls are located to the right of the map area.

To navigate the map:

1. Use the Plus button to zoom in.
2. Use the Minus button to zoom out.
3. Click the Centre button at the bottom to centre the map.

To configure the map, click the Layers button. This will open the configuration panel.

Here, you can choose between two different map types. Greyscale is on by default as it helps the monitors and Arcs of Influence to stand out, but it can be toggled off.

Source areas are often custom designed to highlight the area of operation or concern. The Arcs of Influence, which suggest the possible source of emissions, can be toggled on or off.

Using other controls

In the top-left corner of the map, you will find a dropdown menu and a time and date indicator.

Emission types

The emissions types in the menu vary depending on your site solution and can include a wide variety of metrics including noise, vibration, odour, and weather data, depending on the sensors installed.

To change the measurement type displayed on the map:

1. Click the dropdown menu in the top-left corner.
2. Select the desired measurement option.

The map display will update to show that measurement for sensors on the ground that are measuring it.

Time and date

The time and date indicator shows the current time and date, confirmed by a pulsing green dot. This indicates you are viewing data from now.

To review historical data, follow these steps:

1. Click the time and date indicator.
2. Select the desired historical date and time.
   The system indicates you are viewing historic data by changing to an amber dot.
3. Click the dot to return to real-time data.

Reading weather data

The section in the top-right of the page delivers weather data including temperature, average wind speed and direction, rainfall, and humidity. This will alter to show historic weather when in historic mode.

The Change Facility button allows users with a multi-site solution to switch sites. In most cases, you will have access to only a single site solution.

Switching views

You may prefer to see metrics in a graph format.

Grid view removes the map view and replaces it with a grid of each monitor and the chosen metric in graph format. The chosen metric is still controlled with the dropdown menu in the upper left.

To switch views, click the Grid View button in the top-right. You can click the same button again to return to the Map View.

Comparing monitors

To view detailed data for a single monitor, click a monitor on the map.

A detailed summary will appear showing all monitoring types and weather data for that monitor.

To add graphs showing the last 24 hours of measurement, select one or more measurement types from the pop-up. Each selected measurement will be highlighted by a distinct colour and displayed as a graph.

When multiple monitors are selected, you can compare measured levels of the same type across different monitors.
