Users who need to analyse recorded noise events and manage compliance.

Noise Event Playback access is required.

Noise classification allows you to review, categorise, and analyse recorded noise events that contribute to exceedances or non-compliance.  It includes  manual classification of events, visibility across NMTs and EMUs, filtered views, and classification status, plus the ability to download audio files from the platform.

This article explains where you can classify noise events to help you identify the sources of non-compliance, improve reporting review performance over time, and make informed operational decisions.

Classifying noise events

Classifying events can help you make decisions on changing equipment layout, adjusting operating times, or modifying vehicle schedules. It also lets you provide evidence for community or regulatory discussions to support compliance efforts and protect your operating licence.

To classify events:

1. Access the Events module.

2. Set filters to narrow down the events.

3. Review the event details.

4. Use the noise playback to listen to the recorded event.

5. Click Download audio to export the event audio for analysis outside of the platform.

6. Once analysed, choose the Event classification.

7. Tick Disregard event if the recorded event has no operational significance.

8. Add Comments to note any additional context or information relating to the event.

9. Click Confirm.
